One of the features of Middlebrook Valley Lodge
is the range of different single paddocks available
typically fenced with quality post and rail.
This means that your horse is able to be placed
in a paddock that best suits it's temperament
and current requirements.
Broodmare management and foaling:
Our managers, David and Verna Metcalfe have
an enviable reputation built over many years
of consistently achieving conception rates well
above industry averages. Middlebrook Valley
Lodge being located less than 10 minutes from
Scone, is also able to access the excellent
facilities and expert equine vets from Scone
Veterinary Hospital.
During
foaling season, experienced night watch staff
are employed every night to monitor mares when
foaling is imminent and proceed to assist the
mare to foal down.
Stallion walk-ons: Being in the heart
of the Hunter, Middlebrook Valley Lodge is able
to facilitate walk-ons to all the major Hunter
Studs.
Weaning:
David, Verna, Alex and Kylie believe that the
weaning process is critical to a horses future
development and their weaning process is very
much hands on and tailored to the individual
animal.
Middlebrook Valley Lodge's weaning program gives
your weanling the best chance of developing
into a happy, well mannered horse ready to maximise
its potential in the sale ring and ultimately
on the race track.
Sale Preparation: David and Verna pride
themselves on turning out beautifully presented
yearlings at all the major sales.
Spelling
racehorses: Liasing
with the trainers to assess the individual needs
of each horse then implementing a plan of action
with regard to activity restriction, rest and
activity to suit each horses requirements.
